Statements
Opinions, collected from participants of the international SQ
Pelvis solution efficiency study.
Dr. Alexander Kristen, MD, Klinik fuer Unfall-, Hand- und
Wiederherstellungschirurgie, Uniklinikum Homburg/Saar, Germany
"SQ Pelvis is a very good tool for visualizing the essential
characteristics of pelvic and specially acetabulum fracture. This is a
basic condition for the reduction of fragments during operation. The
preoperative planning as an important link in the surgical treatment
of pelvic fractures becomes more effective by a preemptive
forecast. SQ Pelvis provides a realistic environment which helps the
surgeon to proceed easier along also during the operation."
Prof. Dr. Rami Mosheiff, Hadassah University Hospital, Jerusalem, Israel
"SQ Pelvis tool was very useful because of its accurate preplanning
process which allows discussion about the type of fixation,
approaches, an pitfalls, by the surgical team prior to surgery. The
guidelines for surgery are very precise up to the level of the screw's
measurement and direction. The program is also an excellent teaching
tool for residents. It has been used as a preplanning basis also for
Navigation surgery. I believe that in the future it would be possible
to couple this program with the computerized navigation
system. Analysis of surgical outcome can be conducted after the
surgery in a most effective way, comparing between our pre-surgery
goals and the actual outcome."
Dr. Endre Varga, MD, University of Szeged, Hungary
"The program was very useful, especially for difficult acetabulum
fractures. We have never seen such a good and effective preoperative
planning. Now we are able to plan the exact size of the implants we
are going to use during the operation. I strongly recommend SQ Pelvis
for surgeons who are dealing with difficult acetabular surgery."
Amal Khoury, MD, Orthopaedic Surgery, Hadassah Ein-Kerem, Jerusalem, Israel
"The use of SQ Pelvis tool was almost crucial for any preplanning
of acetabular surgery. In the future I would like to use SQ Pelvis as
a part of my common practice."
